  5. 1.1     INSTALLATION PATHNAME
  6. -----------------------------
  7. The user has to type in the full installation path of the
  8. CD-ROM Device Driver, CDD.SYS and others supporting files.
  9. The default installation path setting is C:\CDD. The user
  10. can change the default path to any path for installation.
  11. (Default: C:\CDD)

  14. 1.2     MSCDEX.EXE CD-ROM EXTENSION
  15. -----------------------------------
  16. For DOS Version 6's user, MSCDEX.EXE Version 2.22 already
  17. provided in the DOS directory. The program will copy the
  18. MSCDEX.EXE from the C:\DOS sub-directory to the C:\CDD
  19. [Assumming default directory: C:\CDD]. The MSCDEX.EXE
  20. included in the disk is Version 2.21.

  24. 1.2     PORT ADDRESS OF THE CD-ROM'S INTERFACE CARD
  25. ---------------------------------------------------
  26. The user can specify the port address for the interface
  27. card.  The address selected has to be same is the jumper
  28. setting(JP8) on the CDC-005/6 interface card.  If the user
  29. is using a sound card instead of the CDC-005/6, the CD-ROM
  30. address setting for the sound card driver has to be the same
  31. as the selected one. The port address available are 300,
  32. 320, 330, 340 and 360.

  36. 1.3     DATA TRANSFER MODE
  37. --------------------------
  38. The type of data transfer mode can be specified during
  39. installation.  The several mode available are Programmed
  40. I/O, DMA Channel 0,1,2,3,5, 6,7. The data transfer mode
  41. selected has to be same as the jumpers(JP5 & JP6) on the
  42. interface card, CDC-005/6. For Programmed I/O, no jumper
  43. setting is needed.

  47. 1.4     INTERRUPT SETTING
  48. -------------------------
  49. The interrupt setting can be selected in the installation
  50. menu. The interrupt selection has to match the jumper
  51. setting at JP7 on the interface card, CDC-005/6. The
  52. interrupt available are none, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 & 11. For
  53. None, no jumper setting is needed.

  57. 1.5     VERBOSE MODE FOR THE CDD.SYS DRIVER
  58. -------------------------------------------
  59. This verbose mode can be turn on and off. Turning on the
  60. mode will display information about the installation.

  64. 1.6     CD-ROM DRIVE LETTER
  65. ---------------------------
  66. A nearest unused drive letter will be used as the CD-ROM
  67. drive letter.
